Wyscout recommendations for Championship and lower PL clubs.

After my weekend access to Wyscout I found a number of players from a quick data search, confirmed with a video view, who look to be worthy of further investigation. I looked for players I thought would be good for ambitious championship clubs, or those in the middle to lower half of the Premier league.

The players I've found are from the second tier in France, Italy and Spain.

One thing that is good and bad about data scouting is that the players identified are often the players who already have a good reputation. So in some cases I may be talking about players beyond the recruiting powers of the Championship, however I think 2 of the players from France and 1 from Italy are ready for Premier League clubs.

In terms of how I used the data I just looked for single stats these players did well, like ball progression or through balls. If a name cropped up a few times I watched some video. Not the most scientific method but I only had a few hours.

Wyscout does provide some radars but they tend to be fairly inconsistent so it is hard to compare radar to radar as the data is different on each chart.

We'll start in France.

Ligue 2
Alexis Claude Maurice - great dribbler, classy on the ball
This player ticks all the boxes, he has lovely technique with almost 8 dribbles (6 successful) a game. He plays off the left mostly and looks to have high potential. Great set piece taker too.

Cheick Doucoure - all action midfielder
Almost certainly out of range of Championship clubs, and I'd be saying clubs up to Everton's level should be having a look, this 18 year old midfielder seems to have it all. The clips of him playing at first seem to show two different players. For his country he plays at number 10, and shows flair and technique, for his club he is a number 6, sniffing out danger and starting attacks with crisp passing. I love an all rounder and be seems to be able to do everything.

Franck Honorat - Beckham, great weight on passes
Really reminded me of Beckham stylistically, gets nice shape on his crosses and passes. I'll keep this report brief though as Google tells me St Etienne have already signed him.

Florian Aye - striker
Looks like the type of striker who does well in the Championship, a Dwight Gayle level player. Only 21 and a former France U20 striker, he had a great scoring record with Auxerre youth, but struggled in their first team, a move seems to have reinvigorated him. He tops the league for goals and assists. Tall and strong with adequate technique.

Serie B
David Okereke - striker - Spezia
Really like this player. Quick, intelligent movement, and a thunderous shot from either foot. Work permit might be an issue.

Davide Frattesi - Ascoli
Stood out on the per 90 stats. Further reading revealed he is a highly rated Italian U19 player already signed to Sassuolo. Video clips show a good all rounder with excellent vision and technique.

Liga B
Alejandro Pozo Pozo - skillful attacker
On loan at Granada from Sevilla II.
Lovely technical midfielder. Can play either side, as a number 10 or wing back. I imagine Sevilla know they have a good player but he probably isn't ready for a CL team yet. Not yet playing the full game, every game, but his per 90 stats looked really good.

Manu Vallejo - small, rapid winger
Very similar to Pozo Pozo but far more gettable. He players for Cadiz and has only really established himself this year at 21. His dribbling, technique and shooting are superb. I could imagine him thriving for Leeds or similar.
